About Digital Armor
Digital Armor is built for business owners who want enterprise-grade thinking without being handed off to a helpdesk maze.
Who We Are
Digital Armor is led by Ruurd Smorenburg, a senior infrastructure and security engineer with roughly 30 years of experience across enterprise platforms, regulated environments, and complex operational systems.
This is not a volume MSP built around ticket queues and account managers. It is a hands-on engineering practice designed to give small and medium businesses the same level of rigor that larger organizations expect.
Background
Ruurd's experience includes enterprise engineering and security work across organizations such as Deloitte, GlobalCollect, the University of Amsterdam, and other high-complexity environments where uptime, control, and auditability matter.
That background shapes how Digital Armor operates: clean infrastructure, direct ownership, documented controls, and plain-English communication when something is wrong.
Why Digital Armor Exists
Most SMBs are sold reactive IT. Something breaks, a ticket gets opened, and the business waits. Security is usually a separate product, a separate invoice, or an afterthought.
Digital Armor exists to close that gap. The goal is to give smaller organizations a single technical partner who can handle day-to-day IT, security, compliance, and strategic planning without pretending those are separate worlds.
What We Bring
- Managed IT with proactive maintenance and direct accountability
- Cybersecurity built into the service, not bolted on later
- Compliance-aware engineering for healthcare, legal, and financial environments
- Architecture and advisory support for owners who need more than ticket resolution
- Clear technical communication without jargon fog
Credentials and Depth
Formal credentials matter less than execution, but they do provide context. Ruurd's background includes RHCE, VMware VCP, and graduate cybersecurity study through the University of Miami, alongside decades of practical engineering work.
The point is not badge collecting. The point is that your environment is being handled by someone who understands both the technology and the consequences when it is built badly.
How We Work
Engagements begin with an assessment. That assessment establishes what exists today, what is working, what is exposed, and what needs to be corrected first. From there, Digital Armor can move into remediation, ongoing managed service, or strategic advisory support.
Remote support is standard. On-site work is available across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties when the problem actually requires hands on hardware, network, or physical environment.
Who This Is Not For
If you are looking for the cheapest helpdesk contract possible, Digital Armor is not a fit. The company is built for organizations that care about reliability, security, and direct technical ownership.
If your business depends on technology and you want it handled properly, it is a fit.
Want to See How Your Environment Stacks Up?
The fastest way to know whether your current setup is solid is to assess it directly. That gives you a clear picture of risk, compliance exposure, and where your IT is helping or hurting the business.
