Cyber Insurance Readiness

Make sure the answers on your application are true before you sign them — and that you can prove it when it matters.

The problem with the questionnaire

Cyber insurance applications ask specific technical questions: is multi-factor authentication enforced, are backups isolated and tested, is there endpoint detection on every device, who holds administrator rights. The owner signs the answers.

Most applications are not wrong on purpose. They are wrong because the person answering believes MFA is on everywhere and it is not, or that backups are tested and they have never been restored. That gap matters most after an incident, when the carrier checks whether the controls on the application were actually in place.

What we do

  • Answer-by-answer reviewWe check each question on your application or renewal questionnaire against the environment as it actually is
  • Close the gapsMissing controls are put in place before renewal, in priority order, rather than promised
  • Evidence recordConfiguration exports, policy settings and restore-test results, kept so the answers can be shown rather than asserted
  • Keep it trueControls that drift over the policy year are caught under ongoing management, not discovered during a claim

Controls carriers commonly ask about

  • Multi-factor authenticationOn email, remote access and every administrator account
  • Endpoint detectionBehavior-based protection on laptops and servers, with someone accountable for the alerts
  • BackupsOffline or immutable copies, separated from the network, with restores tested
  • Email securityFiltering and controls against phishing and business email compromise
  • PatchingOperating systems, firewalls and internet-facing systems kept current
  • Privileged accessSeparate administrator accounts, and fewer of them
  • Incident responseA written plan and a known path to the carrier’s breach response team

Every carrier words it differently. The cyber insurance guide explains why applications get denied or priced up and where claims go sideways.

What this is not

  • We are not an insurance broker and do not sell or place coverage.
  • We do not guarantee that a carrier will offer coverage, a price or a payout. We make sure the answers you sign are true and that you can show it.

How it is delivered

Readiness usually starts as a scoped assessment focused on the questionnaire, followed by remediation. Keeping the controls in place through the year is part of:

Sector obligations carry over: medical practices, law firms and financial firms face questions that overlap with the rules they already answer to.
